Just received this from an employee of a large independent research firm. The following is evidence from the trial of the Viacom vs. Youtube lawsuit that just wrapped up a few hours ago. This is not a hoax, all of this has been verified. It appears that Dana White approved of creating 'hijacked' video in order for people to 'pose as fans' and 'hammer' message boards with 'leaked video'. Don't take my word, check it out for yourself. Contact info has been blurred to protect those involved.
The mentioned episode is from TUF Season 4 entitled 'Blood Bath'. Props to Gregor for the find.
I don't understand the badness of this. They were just marketing.
agreed, doesn't bother me.|||It's hardly propaganda, companies do things like this all the time....|||Doesn't surprise me.
Have you been on Sherdog? All these "new" members going after non-ufc fighters saying they're not that good.
I thought they were ufc b***washers, turns out they may be on the payroll.|||^ i try to stay as far away from sh*tdog as possible. place is a joke.
doesnt suprise me, but i agree w/above. its called viral marketing or something. everyones doing it.|||This is done all over the net by all different types of orginizations, even in government and politics. A bunch of posers posting as your average Joe trying to push THEIR agendas/opinions onto others, other people adopt these opinions and some how come to the conclusion that it was theirs to begin with.
Its pretty sad that it actually works, in general that is, not in regards to this purposfully leaked video, thats just the UFC using a good marketing strategy in the best place to market things, the internet. No big deal.|||All this^^^ PLUS the UFC loves to F**K with teh Sherdog lol. They do not get along for some reason, well, I sort of know the reasons, the 'alleged' ones anyways.
But who cares, this isn't a big deal. And I'm with DL on this, as a LOOOOOOONG time Shert*rd myself, that place is a waste forum wise. Sometimes you come across good stuff or discussion in there, but its really rare these days.
