GSP is too small, and doesn't sound like he wants anything to do with it. And the fact that his confidence would be shaky going into it kinda' makes me think this would be a bad matchup anyways.
Who ya' got?? ANYWHERE in the MMA world????|||I would love to see GSP, but he needs to nurse that injuery first.
|||you can scream LYOTO until your throat goes numb but that fight wont happen for a while...
I can see them putting him against Tito Ortiz after Ortiz destroys his first opponent if he does.... Anderson will humiliate Tito but i can see that one happening...
Another one is Anderson Silva against Thiago Silva if Thiago breaks Keith Jardine... Thiago's only loss is against Lyoto and thats not a bad thing... He is a great fighter even though I know Anderson would break him too...
The last fight of his contract could be against Machida... I can see White making it happen just not now...|||Lyoto would be an amazing fight if silva fought like he did against forrest controlled explosions ect. but it wont happen dana wants to keep some untouchables in the UFC.
also did anyone notice how silva's personality changed both befor and during the fight? i mean silva disrespected rua.....never disrespects fighters. and he kept taunting forrest with the hit me thing but then offered him a hand whenever he fell.... :)|||

I think the tunting is stategy, if you want a guy to rush you bpt your hands down and tunt him. If the opponent doens't have much composure he will fall into the same trap Forrest did. That plays right into Sliva's style.|||
I say Lyoto Machida.

Lyoto and Anderson will never fight each other because they train together.|||There's no one at MW, that's for sure.|||

Yeah, I know I know.. we know ALL about this.. I just think it needs to happen.. I mean they are the two best. And Anderson KEEPS on saying that he wants the best. Did you guys hear anything about the press conferance that Dana had not long ago saying he'd like to see Silva and Machida fight? But both Silva and Lyoto said afterwards in iterviews that it will NEVER happen?? I don't think it has ANYTHING to do with the UFC wanting "untouchables".. if that were true, then Dana wouldn't have matched him up against the big heatred (normally) Forrest.
This "I won't fight that guy cause he's my friend.." crap needs to end. I'm sick of hearing about it.. if your friend is the best, and he's next in line? Then guess what?? Kiss and make up later. I want this fight. Everybody wants this fight.
On a side note (sort of) you guys think Chuck might be able to make a run at Silva? Or maybe Evans?? They are both supperior strikers to most of the guys Anderson fights, and they are great counter punching fighters with KO power and great timing, accuracy and hand speed to match Silva. I wouldn't mind seeing one of these guys take a crack at him. I'm not saying they can beat him.. but it would be an interesting fight. I think Chuck would be down for it.. he wants to get back intio the Octagon. Maybe Lesnar haha.. (kidding) It would have been cool if Chuck got in the ring after the fight was over and called Anderson out lol. I would have loved to see Andersons face if he would have seen the "Iceman" getting in the Octagon to call him out haha.. we'll see.
As far as Andersons attitude? I thought it changed when he heard the fans booing him in the intro's. You could just see that light go on when he shrugged and smirked like.. "oh, you wanna' boo me huh? Well now I just went from whupping this dude, to embarrassing him, he can thank you guys later.." I called that right at the intro's. I really think that Anderson genuinley has nothing against Forrest, I think he got a little charged when the fans booed him tho. I was suprised by the boo's myself.. I like Anderson, and think he does really want to be challenged before he steps away. But throwing guys like Forrest that offer nothing but "heart" and not as much skill to go with it ata guy like Silva is proving to be a fools arrend. We need to see some REAL strikers in there with him.. not that Franklin wasn't, but Silva had that guy beat mentally before they stepped in the ring. Thats another reason I DON'T wanna' see GSP fight Anderson, he sounds shaky about it as it is..|||
I would love to see GSP, but he needs to nurse that injuery first.
That and Silva would have to drop weight. GSP doesn't like jumping weight classes. So the only way for it to happen would be if Silva dropped the weight.|||

Haha.. I love GSP, and skill wise I think he matches up well, but I don't think that GSP can beat Silva. Silva is too big, and too powerfull for GSP. And I would hate to see GSP get torn up by Silva.. it would break my heart. I've come a looong way from hating GSP to enjoying watching him fight, and liking his sportsmanship after the fight is over.|||GSPs best asset is his size so what would happen when he fought the bigger man.|||
GSPs best asset is his size so what would happen when he fought the bigger man.
Thiago Alves was bigger than GSP, so was Matt Hughes (arguably). I do think size would play a roll here, but only because the guy in question (Silva) should be fighting at 205, let alone 185. Theres a big difference in being a little larger than your opponent.. and ALOT larger than your opponent.. and GSP is much smaller than Silva (naturally anyways). Skill wise.. I think GSP is just as impressive. He dissmantles opponents with ease. Thiago and Penn are great examples of that.. where as Forrest, is no where near Silva's skill level, and it showed big time.|||Anderson Silva's too good. He's never lost in the UFC and his only 2 losses was a DQ and a surprise flying scissor heel hook. I think if Anderson Silva got cocky like he did during the Forrest fight, someone can spring a surprise submission on him.|||His cockyness possibley could be the only thing that makes him get caught. He would pick GSP a part unless GSP has some sort of master plan and does nothing but wrestles him and hope he doesnt get caught in a submission.
The only possible good match he could have is with Machida and he will never fight him ...normally guys who are from the same camp will never fight like Rashad and Jardine|||GSP vs. Silva is like GSP vs. Penn only with St. Pierre on the wrong side of the scale this time. It would be silly for him to take that fight. Silva walks around at more than 205.
Sherdog has a list of middleweights who are in line to fight Silva and there are some pretty descent names there. Vitor Belfort is the one that really stands out to me. He would be another big 185'er.
I have no doubt if Machida loses his belt that Silva will fight for it. I thought I heard somewhere that they would consider fighting each other but everything I looked at today says "Nope".
Griffin fighting Silva was a horrible matchup for Forrest. Jardine might give Silva a harder time because of his chin, awkward style, and punching power. Griffin just does not have that home run punch. Rashad also has the power and speed to keep Silva honest but I don't know why Silva would fight either one of those guys. Nothing to gain and a lot to lose.
