im glad he did though.|||Couldn't make it at WW, so he moves down to LW, can't make it there so he's back at WW.
He's a B level fighter who will never be champ.|||

Agree with you there.|||

You are forgetting that BJ Penn has spent the last 13 years of his life training nothing but BJJ and MMA. Sanchez has had 4 years of high school wrestling and then trained MMA while working a 9-5 before he could train full time. He needs more time and maybe he could catch BJ on his way down as long as he could keep his sanity together while he waits.
BJ Penn is so dominating because he paid his dues and spent an insane amount of time training. Most people can't afford to have their parents pay their way while they commit their life to training. Diego isn't permanently a B or C level fighter. He just has to put in more time and do more work.|||I think Sanchez has already reached his peak. He really hasn't shown any recent improvement to me. He has came a long way since the Ultimate Fighter but I think he has reached his potential.|||He is an entertaining fighter but yeah he wont become a champ while BJ Penn is around. Going back to WW though, I dont really know what he wants to do there. I dont see him do anything different in that division, but I would like to see a rematch with KOS.|||

Yeah, but how many names could you insert into that sentence along with Sanchez? I think moving back up is a mistake for him. Theres still people he hasn't fought at LW yet that would be great matchups for him, and possibly would help give him the experience necessary to make another run. Just because he got torched by soemone that ALOT of people would agree is as close to un-beatable at that weight class as there is.....doesn't make him a 'B' level fighter. I still think Sanchez has the potential to win a belt down the road. His stand up has improved with every fight I've seen him in, and his grappling base will only get better with more study. I agree with alot of what Ballpoint said too, Sanchez is young, and has only been training for a limited amount of time. Only time and more experience will tell us how far he will be able to go. Not one fight that he gets smashed in.
Bottom line here is, who wants to see a slightly flabby and completely 'strange' Diego 'Nitemare' Sanchez climb back up to the WW ranks and get spanked by the top-feeders there? He should stay put. I give him more of a chance against the Sean Sherks and Joe 'Daddy' Stevenson's of the world then I do against the Jon Fitch's and Thiago Alves's.|||I think Sanchez should fight Guida one more time before he moves back up! Another "Fight of the Year"!
If Sanchez REALLY wants to be a champion of some sort he should move over to Strikeforce and just beat up on all the guys over there. :)
