U wanted it! U GOT IT!!! GSP vs DIAZ Oct 29th UFC 137 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.|||Diaz by mean mug.
Don't be scared homie.|||Diaz is a joke......that's a walk thru for gsp|||Logic says GSP wins by lay and pray+good submission defense.
But given Nicks standup and his BJJ, it's going to be a long night for GSP. Whether on the feet or on the ground George is going to have to be careful and he is going to have to work for it.
and sometimes despite Dana's bile style attitude and his bs wanna-be * act and his outright annoying appearence in general, sometimes, I really love the dude.
|||Sweet :)|||Should ask a lot of questions of GSP. Whilst I don't like Diaz's attitude as a person, he is a great fighter. If he brings his top class BJJ game with him, we got a fight on our hands be it on the feet or on the ground. Classic.|||GSP by top control Unanimous Decision. I know there's a very, very slim chance that he won't finish Diaz but man would it ever be amazing to finish the guy that hardly anyone has ever finished.
I'd give Nick more of a chance but I don't see him presenting anything that BJ/Thiago/Shields/Fitch didn't offer GSP.|||Because Nick Diaz is multi-dimensional; he has a much better chance of winning this fight than Jake Shields did.
Is there a link to confirm this though? Seems strange that all the sudden the UFC would be willing to bring SF guys RIGHT into the mix when they said that SF would operate independently for at least a while.|||http://www.ufc.com/news/ufc-137-fight-card-updates|||I'm Canadian, but I really hope Diaz can pull off the upset.|||

Yeah, I've found a few other sources on it. But I am DAMN suprised this isn't getting ALOT more publicity. Sherdog doesn't even have anything about it on their main page -and neither do other sites I've gone to.
Whatever.
Also, being that I am admitadly out of the MMA loop these last few months, whats going on with the rest of SF then? Are we going to see more SF Vs. UFC fights coming up soon, or is this some sort of isolated incident for some reason?|||gsp gsp gsp|||GSP by repeated jabs.
Mostly kidding.
I don't think Diaz would let GSP just jab away at his face for 5 rounds. I think its gonna be GSP's biggest test in quite a while, but he should take it. I can't see him knocking Diaz out though. He's gonna have to sub him or get a decision; possibly GnP.|||

It was a pretty big deal for a few days but the attention has died down.
As far as other "Champion vs Champion" match-ups, I haven't heard anything. What I DO know is that Diaz' contract was actually with Explosion Entertainment (parent company of SF) and not Showtime itself, so he wasn't contractually obligated to fight on Showtime. So the question is, what other fighters have the same type of contracts? Diaz' new contract with the UFC allows him to fight in the UFC and Strikeforce, so it's possible that we may see other fighters contracts get reworked as well.|||

my guess is all future contracts (which nick just signed) w/Zuffa will allow (& occasionally have) the SF/UFC fights up until SF is absorbed by the UFC the same way PRIDE was.
im sure it helps that there isnt really anyone left for GSP @ his weight, in the UFC, as far as most fans are concerned.
