First of all I would like to say, that this game is indeed amazing and the best full contact fighting game out there now.
I am 30 - 16 online with only using Fedor twice (one loss as him) and I used Cung Le one time the rest of my fights have been with my own created character Levi Stevens (Stephens is my real last name)
now I would say that most of my fights turn out pretty decently in the end, I can definitely take a lost, had a Vale Tudo round where I lasted the complete 20 mins with the other guy and I lost to a split decision, it was one of the greatest fights i've been in..
not to say i haven't ran into problems either
out of my 16 losses I would say probably 7 or 8 of them were completely fair losses, I can handle being taken down and out wrestled and subbed, I've actually escaped plenty of both types of submissions, i dont think the fault comes in the mini game, i think the fault may lie in some of the characters
i fight the light heavy weight division and let me tell you 9/10 times i fight against bas rutten, and i've beaten him plenty of times im not saying its impossible but let me explain some of my losses
once i did a flying knee and completely connected then threw a spinning heel kick to the head then tried another kick and accidentally did another spinning heel kick to the head, some how they all three landed perfectly with no block or parry and mind you my characters right leg kick is rated at 92 and my overall standup is 89 but rutten just looked at me and his head stamina was barely half way down??? i just dont understand the mechanics of this game at times, other times its simply beautiful and seems perfect but right after those the knee and two heel kicks he straight jabs me with two lefts and knocks me completely out...it was infuriating...I dont watch a ton of mma fights but i took karate for a long time and if someone really connects with a spinning heel kick to the face 80% of the time they're not going to be standing, i just think its dumb that in order to flash ko, the other person has to be caught at the right moment in their attack i just cant believe how weak kicks can seem at times other times i've flash ko'd people idk
other problems i've seen:
at times it seems like my controller just wouldnt respond to attacks i could flick the thumb stick in any direction and my guy would do absolutely nothing, and i've had the same problem with parrying aswell but it seems like i can parry really well in the middle of the ring but if i back up close to the cage or ropes i cant parry for * i miss tons of times, i just dont get it....
now for everyone who says: you dont understand it you just need to get better, in some cases yes maybe but i think you guys should listen to some peoples complaints, anyone with a 95 sub rating or above, is damn near im possible to beat if they're around you're skill....people just say well dont get taken down dont get taken down....its damn near impossible to not get taken down at least once in a match and if they have high stat in ground it makes it really really hard....now i understand people like submissions and are going to play as characters with high subs...but maybe it should be a little bit harder to actually put someone in a submission other than one button press maybe? or the person being choked should have a minigame where they're keeping their head tucked so they dont get the full choke then if they beat that one then it goes to the circle minigame?
other times i've done a teep kick and my foot lands flat on his chest or stomach and absolutely nothing happens? it just stops the animation....
dont get me wrong i love the game just run into a couple flaws, another one i found and i really really wish i would have saved a high light a guy swung at my head and i dropped instantly and when the replay came on it showed no connection between my head and his fist he just punched mid air and i got knocked out? idk
if anyone else has had similar problems like this please post! i would like to know i'm not the only one
anyways i love this game it really really is good i just hope a developer sees this post and at least looks into some of these things
also: please please put a CAF league on xbl or maybe they could lower some of the stats of some of the major guys just to make it a fair playing field online for everyone.....
