Joey Villasenor (coming off lost to the best middle weight in Strikeforce not to bad)
Scott Smith (What can I say fun to watch and is willing to be in it)
Luke Rockhold (Great up and comer who deserves to be in)
Jason Miller ( One of the best middle weight they have)
Melvin Manhoef (when is he not willing to fight)
Robbie Lawler (coming off a loss to Sobral but, still would be a favorite)
Nick Diaz (do to timing he would be able to compete and a first round fight between him and Miller draw ratings)
Jorge Santiago (Yea im a little biased on this HUGE fan and said in interviews Sengoku is goin to let him take part in it)
So what do you guys think if all these guys were in I be watchn.
|||I would like to more from Luke, he needs more love from Strikeforce.
Good list.
I would like to see the Cannibal get an invite.
Shlemenko would also be awesome, but I don't think Bellator would allowed it.|||lawler doesnt have much interest in the tourney. I think diaz is better left @ WW but there is really nobody left (besides maybe heiron) to fight. in all reality, i could see both lawler (already on record) & diaz both leaving for the UFC in the near future. be a HUGE loss if diaz left with both the WW & MW belts.
with lindland, manhoef, mayhem, santiago, villasenor, radach, etc, there is def still alot of talent for a tourney. was really loooking forward to hendo & le being in it, but that was mostly for the individual matchups it would have produced.
still think they really need to do this for the women...they need more exposure than anyone of the MWs right now IMO. after carano & cyborg, not too many people know female fighters (i could prob only name a handful). start telling their stories. there are some very marketable female fighters out there right now. it could set SF apart from all other orgs if done right.|||

Dana has gone on record many times stating that he likes him, but his 'issues' are what has kept him out of the UFC since he left.
Take that for what its worth.
Lawler isn't really a guy I can see the UFC making a push for. He isn't very highly regarded these days, and would probably be a 'gatekeepr' type in the UFC.|||

lawler still somewhat exciting and DW loves Hit Squad. but yeah, i dont see him anymore as anyting other than a gatekeeper (if that). hes prob only got a couple yrs left anyway. thats why i was suprised he didnt want in the tourney. hes one of those guys that will fight on extremely short notice & always has a good chance of being on either end of the KO of the night. hes always had a good relationship w/the UFC.
one thing about DW, he will give vets a last run in the UFC. for their name, respect or whatever reason, he does appreciate some of the guys that built it up (as long as you kissed his a**, or didnt cross him). coleman, baroni, pulver, tanner (off my head) all got that final run when they were def not the same fighters & didnt look to have much left.
i think if the UFC asked, lawler would leave if he was free to do so. IMO though, he'd be smart to stay w/SF & get in this tourney if it happened.|||EDIT: MOVED to another thread...
