Fedor 1st rd K.O.|||Does Brett Rogers have a groundgame at all, anyway could be fun I guess.
Going with Fedor aswell, obviously :)|||

Going with Fedor aswell, obviously :)

We don't know yet, I'm sure he trains on the ground, we just haven't seen it. This is a good fight for Fedor to introduce him to the American public, who didn't pay for his PPV fights. After this I see Werdum, then Overeem.|||fedor's gonna have to weather an early storm, and try to get the fight to the ground cuz rogers def has 1 hit ko power... his cardio's never been tested either, so if the fight goes past the 1st rd fedor will be in favor there too... i see fedor getting in close and pulling guard, and getting a submission on rogers 1st rd cuz rogers ground game isnt in the same universe as fedors :)
and i see overeem/werdum fighting soon too, if overeem can stay injury free being that they were supposed to fight in the last strikeforce card till overeem broke his hand again... the winner of those 2 fight the winner of fedor/rogers|||What a horrible fight for Fedor, Brett Rogers is not ready for that.|||I don't think Brett Rogers is ready for this either. He is decent but if Fedor gets Rogers on the ground or goes past the 3rd round, Rogers is done for. His best bet will probably try to throw big bombs in the first round and slug it out hoping to get a KO.|||Indeed he is not ready, but would he ever be?
It will be interesting if they keep it standing, but all Brett Rogers has is those heavy hands. Arlovski made one mistake and he was done, I think Brett will go down the same road.
If it goes to the ground then it shall be over quickly.
|||i dont think it'll go past the 3rd rd anyways being that its a non-title fight lol, unless they make it for an interim title or sumthin like that... rogers really has nothing to lose here, if he loses, well who hasnt lost to fedor thats fought him, but if he pulls this win off, then he jus beat the #1 ranked hw in the world and it will catapult him to the top of the pile... wonder what ppl like peter moore are thinking? there main character in the game has a chance of getting upset by somewhat of a no-name fighter? i dont think it will happen, but when u have the power that rogers posseses anything can happen...|||There isn't a HW in MMA that's ready for Fedor, Rogers is as good as anyone, he's a little better opponent than Carwin.|||

True. NO ONE is ready for Fedor, not even Lesnar(I know a lot of you WWFC fanboys are going to bring him up.)|||there's definatly no hw out there that could match fedor skill for skill... the only thing lesnar has against fedor is his size and speed, i mean cmon that guys a monster, literally... the only way he could beat fedor is if he got him down, got a good position, held him there and throw shot like he did mir, i dont think there's too many ppl that could do anything about that cuz of how big and strong he is... as long as fedor could find a way to stay out of those positions, keep him in his guard and keep him out of half guard/side control, lesnar wouldnt have a chance, which im confident he could do...|||Hmmm interesting, I actulally figured they might save Rogers for his second fight, throw werdum in there first. I have to agree with you all, I dont think Rogers is overall good enough to handle Fedor, that said, I think this is truly a better fight then Fedor vs. Lesnar, Overeem, Werdum, or velasquez, the only otehr guy i might argue would be a better fight would be Carwin, because he has a significant wrestling knowledge, but after seeing him take a shot from Gonzaga, I imagine he would hit the canvas pretty quick after a shot from Fedor.
Rogers is a young powerful striker, he is dangerous, Arlovski made one mistake ( backing straight up, no lateral movement) and he got smashed. Fedor has to be smart, but then again, he always is, he himself said he thinks Arlovski went in with a bad plan. I expect Rogers will come in strong, and Fedor will likely test his ground game, Rogers hits hard, If Fedor does get tagged, he could be done, but he never really does...Im going with Fedor big time, although itll surely prove he hasnt lost any mental game if he submits him, or if he picks a window to knock rogers out.
I was talking the other day, and I truly though, Rogers vs. lesnar might be the best fight Lesnar could have right now. I think Fedor would handle him at this point, but i think Rogers could actually take Lesnar, after seeing Lesnar a little shaken up after a Mir shot, I think Rogers coming in gang busters would knock him out. Rogers is deadly, Im betting Fedor, but its a true test, bigger, younger, and strong. Lets see what happens.

I agree, no one that I have seen yet can match Fedor's skill, put that together with the fact that Fedor has the greatest skill, mind gset, and ferocity of a heavyweight, well, thats why he has never lost, even uin the prime days of Pride, where there were a host of lethal heavyweights. I agree, Brock is a bigger, stronger, and more athletic man, and he used that to destroy Mir, who i consider a top twenty really. Mir believes he is a kickboxer now, and when he was taken down, he just could move fast enough to aovid Lesnar trapping his head and pounding him out. The thing Lesnar has to deal with though when Fedor fights, is he wont end up in a position that bad, and even in a bad position, Fedor works hard for his submissions, something I dont think some BJJ fighters are doing now, working hard for a submission like sakuraba did. That said, Fedor is way way better of a striker then Mir, he is in a different league then Mir in that category, soif Brock decided to keep his hands down and his head low liek he did Mir Lesnar 2, an uppercut or a hook is well on its way.
Lol, anyways, got off topic, im happy to see this fight happen, I expect it will be a good matchup, a deadly one for both sides, and after well probably see Werdum and Overeem, which are less exciting matches imo. Hoping it happens this year, probably November.|||

I disagree Carwin is not a one dimensional fighter and he has more tools at his disposal, Rogers is great and stand up but I can't get on the band wagon with him yet there is something about him that does not seem ready for that match.
If he does beat him color me corrected.|||I'm just going by their accomplishments, I would pick Carwin to beat Rogers if they fought, but I think Rogers had a better win over a tougher opponent in his only good win, they're both relatively unproven fighters going up against the elite so it's hard to say.|||It will be a real good one sided fight, but Rogers best be training hard for this. That way he won't get embaressed to bad.
